SISTER JUDY'S BEDROOMS & BATH

These pictures are determined to show up out of order!  Sweet display in bathroom.

Another view of the bath.

Everywhere You look there are interesting glimpses of Judy's childhood!
She is an avid Thrift Store Shopper and finds precious children's clothes to display as well as clothes for herself!
Judy loves her dolls! I surprised her with this one one year.

Years ago we had a couple of booths at a thriving Antique Mall. Judy was always finding more porcelain ladies for her collection

Made these wooden figures for her one year for Christmas or Birthday. The little clothes she has hanging are actually hers and her husbands little girl and boy clothes!

Judy loves children's tea sets and dishes. So one year I created this little cabinet for part of her collection.

Her bathrooms are just as charming as all the other rooms in her house!

She uses her large collection of crocheted hearts to display her rhinestone pins

TWELVE WEEKS WORTH OF CHILDREN HOME QUILTS

"The Baptist Children Home Quilters" We gathered the last 12 weeks of our quilts for a farewell look before all 26 of them headed off to Warsaw, Mo. Some of our other quilters make quilts also  Shown in the picture from left. to right are Marlynne (me), Maxine and good friend Rose Marie..
Inspiration for my yearly Geranium Painting. Geraniums are about my favorite flower, but Nasturtiums are right up there too! Can you tell Red and Yellow are my favorite colors!

I keep geraniums all  through the winter, but this year was not a good one for them. So I was on the look out for some plants to take pictures of and when we went to eat at "Sweet Tomatoes" last week there they were! I have the empty frame hanging in the dining room just waiting for the painting!

NEW HOUSE BLOCKS

This little 12"X12" HOUSE QUILT BLOCK  IS MY artist rendition of my CHILDHOOD HOME of the '50's in  Kansas City, Mo.  Many Summers days were spent on that porch. From a summer long Monopoly game to moving the sewing machine out there and creating  school clothes for the new school year!
This little  LOG HOUSE Quilt Block features an "Add-On"to make room for the family!

I just couldn't resist these quaint little bags of flower and vegetable seeds.  After I plant the seeds I will feature the packages on one of my Art Journal pages, won't that make a fun page?

The clerk ask if I actually plant all these seeds in stead of buying the plants? I said I do, I don't always have too good of luck with them, but I love the act of doing it!  Of course I buy plants too! I've started them on top of the refrigerator at times  and once made one bedroom a starter room with low hanging grow lights over a bed!

My newest book of inspiration!

My Latest painting  I call "Spring Returns" displayed in the snow that we still have on the ground!
Hope you'll come see my other blog: www.mcreatesdaily.blogspot.com and wwwMarlynneSnareFolkArtist facebook     Happy Creating!     P.S. Next weeks post will finish Sister Judy's house featuring the Bedrooms and Bath

NEWEST CUFF BRACELET

I've been wanting to get some fabric to make cuff bracelets but hadn't done it. The big snow came and I was in the mood! So I decided I'd turn my one cuff bracelet over and make a reversible bracelet!

I gathered up some lace and button possibilities and just started out!

Here's what I come up with!

Here's what it looks like on the other side. Surprisingly it fits comfortably both ways.

SISTER JUDY'S KITCHEN & FAMILY ROOM

Judy loves the bright Polish, Italian and Mexican Pottery pottery.
She has a China Cabinet full  of it in her kitchen

She is collecting the Crosses right now too

More on her countertops.

And range
Some of her old Cookie Cutters

Looking out her back door to the Cottage

Extra bed in her very cheerful and colorful Family Room

Everywhere you look there is something fun to see!

Judy collects Raggedy's just like me!

The dolls and little miniature banner on the top of the dollhouse were made my me as a gift for Judy as a memory from the year we won first place in the Raggedy's Contest in Arcola, Ill.(hometown of Raggedy Ann & Andy) We led the parade walking right in front of the firetruck which would honk his horn ever now and then to the crowd but make us jump!

Another cute little spot!

Happy 70th Birthday Judy!

Little wooden replicas of our  childhood family going to the cemetery made by Marlynne

Two more kitchen pictures (out of order)

Judy made this Decoupage tray

On her kitchen table. She also loves white stoneware.  Especially the restaurant kind with green rims.     I will have one more post of Judy's House showing pictures of the bedrooms and bath. I hope you agree with me, Judy is quite a Decorator!

RAINY MORNING PROJECT: ART JOURNAL PAGES

Such a sweet quote! I just had to use it, and since it was Valentine time it was perfect timing! I took down the scalloped cookie cutter from my collection in the kitchen and book and paints & off I went on a rainy morning to friend Hope's house for our second Art Journal painting session. By the way husband Maurice & I became Engaged on Feb 26, 1955 and we still celebrate that day every year, as well as our Wedding Anniversary Aug. 26, 1955.

Decided I'd try some of the Zentangle Patterns and ended up with "Flowers Behind The Fence"

Since I hadn't made a cover page yet, and was holding on to the perfect description for my book I decided to go for it! I found this picture that Hope had taking of me before our walk one morning and worked  my page around it.

Lastly, I finished my small Kaffee Fassett fabric quilt. I just Love It!  I had trouble finding the right color for the small corner block, but as I was laying out the blocks and strips minus the corners  on the pool table cover I saw that the color of the pool table cover was perfect! Don't tell anyboby ,but I found a place to snip a little piece off  to take with me to the fabric shop!  P.S. Sister Judys Front Room

This beautiful trunk was Mothers travel Trunk from years ago! Judy had it repaired and refinished as a special gift to her self one year. I'll let you in on a secret: It's stuffed full of Raggedy Anns & Andys from when it was used open in the family room  The tea set was Mothers also. Yes I have some neat things from Mother & Daddy too!
This was Mothers heavy Iron Footstool that we covered in a beautiful velvet fabric (Blouse from the thrift store) for her cottage. She brought it in the house after "The Snake"! Judy has all her childhood dolls plus ones she has added thru the years. Did you notice the Christmas Tree Pins? She has quite a collection of those, each different, most from the thrift stores!  I have to make her a new black velvet pillow about every other year!

She found this Doll House years ago but it was just in the "raw" so she sent it home with me to fix it up on the outside for her birthday. This was what I came up with, an English Tudor look! The doll inn the pink coat was one of her first dolls. I made thhe coat and hat for a Christmas gift for her when I was in grade school. I'm impressed I was able to do that then!

This precious little Doll Head Maniquin was purchased at an Antique Booth years ago. Judy keeps this light on like a night light  in  the morning and evening. The polish pottery doll tea set was given to her for her last birthday  by a close friend from her school days. Judy collects Polish Pottery also as you will see more of especially when I do a post on her Kitchen.

Here we are! Still havin fun at 76 & 71 years old

Her sofa with add touches! Another one of her childhood dolls! The initial pillow was a project one sister's weekend! The neat Roses Lampshade was made by an Antique Booth friend.

Another old Maniquin Head we found! This buffet makes a sweet display table as in come in by the front door. Judy collects old hats and shoes also.
This  precious little tea party scene is underneath that table. She makes use of every little space available!
This chalk blue painted bookcase holds a lot of her treasures! She as run out of room in her house and is dreaming how she could have a stairway built in the closet to go up to the attic! Not goin work! As I told you Judy is an Artist in Decorating! Next post will feature another room in her house.  Thank You Judy!
