"SUMMERTIME AND THE LIVIN IS EASY" (well not quite!)

It's really been hot! Requiring a lot of watering!

Our youngest grandson, Davey has been spending some time with us thus summer. Grandpa is teaching him how to drive like he has all his grandkids and some nieces and nephews, and even his wife about 60 years ago!

I've been transplanting ivy into the shady areas of my  "Blue Bottle Garden"

And transplanting hostas and grasses and adding some yard color!

It's fun to see the transformation!

Well we finally got a good rain about dinner time!

So Maurice suggested we enjoy the rain and have dinner on the back porch!

Here he is enjoying corn on the cob and tomatoes from his little garden.

It's been so hectic around here with lots of grandkids (Which has been great for a change though!) and Bible School too!  So  I hadn't got to paint much, but   decided the other day I was goin for it  A fun self portrait!

My grandson said call it "Goddess of the Heavens" but  I thought that a little much!!   So for now it's called "MARLYNNE IN ANOTHER LIFE" Hope your enjoying your days!

FROM TWIN BEDSPREAD TO TABLECLOTH AND MORE

My favorite colors: red and yellow! So of course I had to grab it! After reworking the ruffle on the twin bedspread I got a tablecloth!

It's a cute little Panda print.

I added another lace garland!

And put out the "Plein Air Bed & Breakfast" sign in the back yard.

The Rooster is standing guard over the Hosta and Herb garden.

Starting over with another Aloe Vera plant! It's so handy to have that medicinal plant available for burns!

I found this cute little bunch of sunflowers for my kitchen seasonal shelf.

I'm thinking Fall! Sick of this heat already!

This beautiful painting was in a Funeral Home in the city.  I couldn't resist taking a picture. Heard it was painted by a local legally blind man! It's heavy layers of paint, gesso and I don't know what else! Are you ready for Fall too?

A Grandpa Tradition! Youngest grandson Davey is measuring up!

And Great Grandson Eli is in the line up too!

So glad to have Davey back with us in Missouri!

Grand daughter Michail is moving on to New Hampshire!  But it was sure good to have her here for a few days anyway!

My niece Pam surprised me with an old Andy to add to my collection.

Another July Birthday, Great Grandson Eli!

His Mommie planned a super party for him at Burger King with a big play area.

MY RED CROSS QUILT IS COMIN ALONG!

The cross blocks are so fun to create!

I keep it out on the pool table and make some almost every day!

This was such a fun read! There are about 19 in the series( I don't know why not an even 20?)  I'm working on getting them all! Or at least reading them all!  Oh! I just found out there are 40 or more! Oh My!

Husband Maurice celebrated his 79th Birthday on June 12th. Here he is telling son Paul a funny story. One of his favorite things to do!

Spent several days up at the Cottage Garden Weeding-----

And getting rid of Poison Ivy!!

I decided to pick some of my herbs and put them on the kitchen table right on my place mat . So I hopefully remember to put some in my salads!

We have the house all patriotic! Inside and out!

Maurice finished staining the house. It looks so nice! The Day lilies  are really blooming well on the south side of the house too!

I shared this old picture on Fathers Day of my parents and me while visiting relatives in the country. Probably about 1940.

They were wonderful parents and were able to celebrate 52 years of marriage before Daddy died. I can't believe Maurice and I will celebrate out 60th Aug. 26th The Lord Willing!   Happy Independence Day Friends!

RELAXING AT ROURING RIVER STATE PARK

Husband Maurice's favorite activity, and favorite place to do it!

He really likes checking out the Hatcherys.  He couldn't get a good picture though!

I enjoy watching and listening to the water, and watching the fishermen too!

But, From my viewpoint while working on handwork!

Even though we don't camp any more we still go thru the campground and smell the wood smoke! So delightful!

We camp at the Lodges now! And I spend a great deal of time in the beautiful lobby!

I discovered such cute old former  gas filling stations  in Cassville this time!

Little pieces of history "Dolled Up"

I love finding small buildings and houses! Hope you can get away for a few relaxing days soon too!
