GOOD- BYS TO 2016 AND DEAR FRIENDS THE NAVYS.

This precious little lighted Christmas Tree, a gift from niece Joy was our centerpiece for the  Christmas Afternoon card game, "Hands & Feet" with granddaughter Jackie.

Jackie won as usual!

This was a first for a Christmas Dinner but it was good!

I always take a picture of  Karen and I with our 4 & 5 year  Sunday School Class on the night of their Christmas Program . So this is this years. We've been teaching here for at least 35 years!

Son Paul & Tracee invited us over for Brunch on Christmas Eve which was delightful!

Sister Judy who is going thru Chemo right now was invited and able to come too, although I caught her with a very serious look on her face!

This is the 90th Birthday Card I made for a good friend Esther Hess. One of our Card Playing Buddies!

This was a beautiful setting among many at the Funeral Home where we were the day after Christmas.

Our dear college/church friends of 60 years both in poor health passed within 20 hours of each other. It was a bittersweet experience: 2 hearses -2 caskets. I wrote a tribute to them which to read Maurice and I  had to go up about 5 stairs (without railings) to the pulpit in The historical  Tower Grove Baptist Church .  I almost made reading it without breaking down!

Usually Maurice and I take the grandkids and son Paul our for separate Christmas shopping days & their choice of eateries. But this year there was none of that so we took ourselves out! We choice The Smoke House BBQ! Yeah!

We had 2 meals out of this!

And our favorite place to spend an afternoon!

Books, Magazines and Coffee! Yeah!! Happy Old 2016 and Happy New 2017!

WE ARE ENJOYING CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS EVEN THROUGH RADIATION AND CHEMO!

Sister Judy has several sets of colorful boots which are fun to decorate with!

And Raggedy Ann & Andys are always colorful and happy no matter the season!

They have their favorite Christmas book ready for somebody to read to them! Will show some of the pictures further down the post.
Judy made this cute fabric Christmas Tree last year.

The front room has some Christmas too!

More Happiness on the kitchen table!

My Christmas Craft this year are these Christmas Tree Garlands I've made for family and friends. Judy's hangs over her T.V. in the Family Room.

I forgot the publishing date on this book but I believe it was in the 40's?

Precious pictures!

Wish for the innocents of years gone bye!

Many house don't even have fireplaces anymore! Bummer!

"MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT!"

Judy's granddaughter got her this Christmas Book she has been reading for her Birthday.

I ordered this for us to read together. It's really good!

Made a new piece of Christmas handwork while staying at Judy's

One of my blog friends: Ilona Fekite from British Columbia, Canada  sent Judy this precious Healing Angel she made for her. It means a lot to both of us!

It sets on the end table right by her chair in the Family Room

I painted this little picture of her precious Victoria for her for Birthday.

It makes her happy! And that's what it's all about these days! Seeing and enjoying the good and happy in each day!

WE'RE GOING TO MAKE LEMONADE OUT OF LEMONS!

I'm staying up at sister Judy's now while we are dealing with the bad word Cancer.! This is her cottage/garden shed.  Judy had a knee replacement in July and the pain continued proving to be cancer. The Doctors feel it started in her lungs and metastasized to her femur bone. She has been going thru many tests, X-ray's, MRI's, Bone Scans, and Pet Scan and more!.  We were all shocked with the results as Judy nor her deceased husband have never smoked and never had any smoking in their home. And she has never had shortness of breath or coughing and is a singer with a huge opera voice.

The family is all  devastated but committed like Judy to fighting it! And like we all should be we will  try to see some good in every day and give God the glory! Judy's little ray of sunshine; great grandson Ryder brought her this cute little pumpkin before her latest surgery.

I couldn't get Victoria to turn around. But you can still see her Halloween outfit she came home in from the groomer!

I work on creative handwork whenever I can, so finished this little pumpkin before coming up  2 weeks ago,

This man and his wife have a cute little white bungalow in Harrisonville that they always have decorated in a patriotic style. I have admired it for several years and taken pictures. This year I decided to do a painting of  the house for one of my entries in the art show and then  surprised him with it as a gift.. He seemed very pleased.

Our cousin reunion was a couple of days after we got the terrible cancer news. Judy decided to go anyway and everyone was so happy as it had been several years since we were all together. Judy is in the center in chartreuse top

Judy and I have had so much fun thru the years and  we want to get back to it again!

Maurice now usually joins us as the chauffeur!

Judy has so many friends praying for her and supporting her thru this!  This yellow rose was given to her by one of the men  that drinks coffee regularly at Hyvee  where Judy and her friends go frequently in the mornings . We covet your thoughts and prayers too during these hard times. Thanks.
