KITCHEN SHELF FEATURING MY YO YO RUNNER

I'VE BEEN WANTING TO MAKE THIS YO YO RUNNER EVERY SINCE I SAW HOLLY'S ON HER Cutie Pie Cottage on Facebook.

I MADE THE YO'S YO'S IN THE CAR WHILE ON VACATION THIS PAST SUMMER , ACTUALLY THREE BIG JARS FULL!  TO MAKE THIS 10"X26"RUNNER I USED 60 2 1/2" YO YO'S.  5 YO YO'S  DEEP AND 12 WIDE.  TACKED THEM TOGETHER AND TIDED KNOTS, THEN AS AN EXTRA PRECAUTION  PUT A DAB OF ELMER'S GLUE ON THE KNOTS.  IT WAS A VERY FUN PROJECT!

AFTER TAKING DOWN THE DISPLAY  OF 40 YEARS OF HOMEMADE CHRISTMAS CARDS, I PUT THESE LITTLE RED-WORK PICTURES UP.  WAS REMEMBERING WHEN I DREW THE DESIGNS ON AN OLD MUSLIN TEA TOWEL AND EMBROIDERED THEM.  IT WAS WHILE SITTING WITH MAURICE AS HE WENT THRU HIS FIRST SESSION OF CHEMO IN 1998.

OUR LITTLE TASHA LIKES LYING IN FRONT OF THE WOOD- STOVE. SOMETIMES IN HER BED AND SOME TIMES ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF IT!

OTHELLO AND BLACK CALLIE LIKE LAYING ON THE ROOF IN THE SUN AND CLOSE TO THE SMOKE FROM THE WOOD-STOVE!

SADLY GRANDMA CALLIE PASSED AWAY ON THE 12TH OF JANUARY. IN A BOX WE MADE FOR HER BY THE WOOD-STOVE.

BEEN WORKING ON HEART GARLANDS FOR VALENTINES DAY. I'VE GIVEN AWAY ABOUT A DOZEN ALREADY AND HAVE ABOUT THAT MANY MORE TO MAKE

I THINK THEY LOOK REAL CUTE DRAPED IN A WINDOW OR  SHELF.  FIRST CUT OUT THE DOUBLE FABRIC HEARTS AND  PIECES OF BATTING ALL AT THE SAME TIME,  THEN DO A RUNNING STITCH AROUND THE EDGES WITH OFF- WHITE EMBROIDERY THREAD AND TIE A BOW AT THE TOP. LASTLY  STRING THEM ON OFF WHITE LITE WEIGHT STRING OR CROCHET THREAD DOING A RUNNING STITCH THRU EACH HEART.

THIS SUNDAY IS MY DAY TO BRING REFRESHMENTS FOR BEFORE SUNDAY SCHOOL. SO I BAKED CHOCOLATE CHIP ZUCCHINI BREAD AND PUMPKIN RAISIN AND PLAIN PUMPKIN BREAD. IT'S COOL ENOUGH TO STORE THEM ON THE ENCLOSED BACK PORCH TILL SUNDAY.  THAT PORCH MAKES A GREAT GIANT SIZE REFRIGERATOR IN THE WINTER!

BETTY AND I HAVE BEEN MAKING FLANNEL CRIB SIZE QUILTS AT CHAT AND SEW LATELY.

WE USE LEFT OVER PIECES OF FABRIC AND COME UP WITH SOME PRETTY CUTE COMBINATIONS!

I HAVE THIS ONE CUT WITH  BACKING AND BATTING ALL READY FOR HER TO WORK ON NEXT WEEK. WE WERE TALKING ABOUT WONDERING IF A KIT  LIKE THIS WOULD SELL ON MY BLOG,  OR FACEBOOK AND FOR HOW MUCH?

WELL US 3 GIRLS FINALLY GOT TO PLAY CARDS AGAIN AFTER A LONG DRY SPELL. WE LIKE TO PLAY HANDS AND FEET.  HOPE YOU PUT SOME FUN INTO YOUR DAYS TOO!   IF INTERESTED YOU MIGHT ENJOY MY OTHER BLOG ALSO: www.mcreatesdaily.blogspot.com

  1. I wonder how quickly I could rustle up some of those heart garlands???? Such a sweet project! Do you have photos of that wall of Christmas cards that you took down? I'd sure like to see what it looked like!

And what a great variety of breads! Your Sunday school class is blessed!

  2. Putting glue on the knots is a great idea! I want to get better at sewing mine together. For some reason, it's really hard for me!
Your heart garland is cute, cute, cute! ♥
